A free tier read from a gap, beside one read from a sentence
Kling AI's free Basic plan does not carry the commercial-use line printed on each paid membership, so the reading comes from an absence. Higgsfield states in a sentence that the rights follow for all users. As of 2026-09-22.
| The question | Kling AI | Higgsfield |
|---|---|---|
| What the page shows | A line on four cards, missing on one | A sentence covering everybody |
| Confidence in the reading | High, from a repeated pattern | Complete, from the wording |
| What can be quoted | The paid cards only | The sentence itself |
| Who the free user asks | The vendor, for a written rule | Nobody |
Inclusion rule. Two vendors whose published answers in one column point in different directions, or sit far enough apart that a reader choosing between them would decide differently. Order. The vendor named first in the heading is the one whose wording is quoted first.
1An absence can be convincing and still not be quotable
A line printed on every paid card and missing from the free one is strong evidence about what was intended. It is not a sentence, and a procurement note cannot cite a pattern in a comparison table.
The other row hands a reader the sentence. That is the whole difference between these two cells: both readers reach the same practical conclusion about their own position, and only one of them can show somebody else why.
2What the register does with the gap
It records the absence and names the method rather than printing a prohibition the vendor never wrote. Writing not permitted in that cell would make the grid tidier and would put words in a vendor's mouth.
That rule costs the grid some apparent completeness. It is the reason the method column exists, and the reason two cells that look identical in a scan are recorded differently here.
3The upgrade question only one row raises
Where a free tier lacks the licence, work made on it and kept afterwards becomes a question: does an upgrade reach backwards. Where the rights cover every user, the question never arises because there was no earlier position to be in.
Neither page answers the backwards question. One row does not need to, which is a quieter advantage than a price and a more durable one.
4A third set of terms on the same question
| The question | SceneMixer | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Output made with free credits | Output is the user's to the extent the law allows, royalty-free and commercial use included, and output made with free credits counts as paid for | SceneMixer, rights guide |
Inclusion rule. SceneMixer's own published wording on the column this pair was chosen for. Order. The sentence closest to the column first.
Its full row is on the SceneMixer entry.
- Free tierThe free Basic plan does not carry that lineby omission
- Entry pointEvery paid membership lists that generated content is for commercial useStandard upward
- Commercial useThere is no separate commercial licence to purchase, and commercial use rights follow from the terms of use for all usersstated for every plan including the free one
5Both documents
The first column comes from the membership plans at kling.ai, read 2026-09-12; the second from the help centre answer at higgsfield.ai, read 2026-09-22. Each vendor’s full row is on Kling AI and Higgsfield, and the column being compared is described on free tier. A comparison of wording is not legal advice. Other pairs: Pika and Fliki, Hailuo and Wan.
