The plan card, and what a missing line on one is worth
A plan card is a marketing artefact that ends up carrying licence information. A line present on some cards and absent from others supports a reading about what was intended, and never becomes a sentence a reader can quote. As of 2026-09-22.
| Question | What the phrase answers |
|---|---|
| The line repeats on several cards | Strong: the pattern is deliberate |
| The cards are aligned in one table | Strong: a reader follows the row across |
| Each plan has its own block of prose | Weak: written at different times |
| The line appears once, elsewhere | Weak: says little about other cards |
Inclusion rule. Phrases that appear in more than one vendor's permissions documents and that change what a sentence means. A phrase used by a single vendor in a single clause is described on that vendor's own page instead. Order. Reading order: where you meet it, then what it settles, then what it does not.
1Layout is evidence, and different layouts carry different weight
In an aligned comparison every feature becomes a horizontal line, and a line that stops before a column stops inside the same design that put the feature there. In a page of separate blocks the same absence means much less.
Repetition adds to it. A sentence printed on every paid card and missing from one is a pattern of four statements and one hole, which is a stronger claim about intent than a single statement can make.
2Why the register will not promote it to a rule
Nothing on a blank card forbids anything. Writing not permitted into a cell because a line is missing would put words in a supplier's mouth to make a tidier grid, and the tidier grid would be the less useful one.
So a reading from an absence is recorded with its method attached. Readers acting for themselves and readers writing a procurement note need different things, and only one of them can use a pattern.
3What a card cannot settle at all
Anything about work already made. Cards describe what a subscription includes going forward, and almost none of them say what happens to output produced under a different plan.
That gap is closed by records rather than by reading. The plan in force on the day of export is a fact somebody can write down at the time and nobody can reconstruct later.
4What the output is for
Alongside the terms behind “Plan card”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:
The script is written from the photos and the one-line description. In step-by-step mode you can rewrite it before anything is shot.

Every character, scene and prop card can carry a short list of the other names your script uses for the same thing.

5Where the sourced wording is
A word page, not an entry in the register: nothing above is attributed to any vendor and nothing above is legal advice. The quoted clauses are on commercial use, the column this phrase turns up in is free tier, and the reading rules are on the reading page. Next words: Seat, Community licence, Permissive licence.
