Who is expected to hold the consent record
Two vendors here condition use on somebody's agreement: one as the price of a product route, one as a rule about any upload. In both cases the record has to exist before the render and travel with the clip. As of 2026-09-12.
| Vendor | What is required | Where the duty sits |
|---|---|---|
| Synthesia | Free, informed consent and confirmation of legal age | On the customer, as the route's condition |
| Higgsfield | That person's permission before uploading or using an image | On whoever supplies the file |
Inclusion rule. Vendors whose published pages make use of a real person's voice or likeness conditional on that person's agreement. Order. The requirement with named elements first, then the general prohibition.
1A supplier cannot verify the thing it asks for
Only the customer knows the relationship with the person in the frame. That makes the allocation sound and uncomfortable: the condition is placed where the knowledge is, and the party holding the knowledge is also the party under time pressure.
It also means the condition survives a change of tooling. A licence question moves when a supplier changes; a consent record is needed whoever rendered the frames.
2Scope is where it fails, not signature
Somebody who agreed to appear in internal training did not agree to appear in a campaign two years later. The agreement existed and the use outgrew it, which is the commonest failure and the least dramatic.
Writing the scope down at the time is the only fix: which uses, which territories, for how long. A general permission produces a general problem at exactly the moment nobody has time for one.
3What a production keeps, in one place
A release for each identifiable person, held with the clip rather than in a mailbox, with the date and the scope. Age evidence where a document asks for it, which is the easiest element to satisfy and the easiest to forget.
Thirteen rows in this register say nothing about inputs. The four that do are the ones whose wording reaches a workflow, which is why this column is worth keeping even when it is mostly empty.
- Input restrictionA custom avatar requires that the person is over the applicable legal age and has given free, informed consent for their voice or likeness to be usedconsent for a real person
- How the restriction is liftedWith a custom avatar the licensing restrictions above do not apply, and videos may be used according to the agreement made with the personby avatar type
- Input restrictionAn image of another person may not be uploaded or used without that person's permissionpermission for a real person
4From the making side
Alongside the terms behind “Consent records”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:
For places, every photo you add becomes a set the shots can move through, up to four.

AI Edit Image on a step-2 card keeps the same character and applies a short change you describe — navy blue shirt, short curly hair, smiling — then Apply Edit.
