What each vendor's terms say about commercial use

The reading date, and why every cell here carries one

Every cell in this register carries the date its wording was read. A permissions document is a moving object, and a recorded clause without a date cannot be distinguished from a clause that was rewritten last week. As of 2026-09-22.

Inclusion rule. Phrases that appear in more than one vendor's permissions documents and that change what a sentence means. A phrase used by a single vendor in a single clause is described on that vendor's own page instead. Order. Reading order: where you meet it, then what it settles, then what it does not.

1A dated clause and an undated one are different objects

An undated quotation is a claim about the present that nobody can verify. A dated one is a claim about a moment, which is checkable against the supplier's own page and remains useful even after the page changes.

It also lets a register be wrong honestly. When a supplier rewrites its terms the old reading does not become a lie; it becomes history, and the date is what makes the difference legible.

2What a reader should do with the date

Treat anything more than a few months old as a prompt to check the link rather than as a fact to quote. Plan pages change more often than licence files, so the same age means different things on different rows.

Where a decision is expensive, read the supplier's page. A register is a map of where the sentences are; the sentence itself is on the supplier's own site and takes a minute to confirm.

3Why it belongs in the cell rather than the footer

Because different cells were read on different days. A site-wide date implies a sweep that did not happen, and the implication is worse than no date at all.

Keeping the date beside the wording also makes stale cells visible to anybody, including the people maintaining the register. A column of dates is a to-do list nobody has to write.

4What the output is for

Alongside the terms behind “Reading date”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:

The photo is cleaned into a product shot and that object appears in every shot.

You can recomposite with different end-card text, and in step-by-step mode you can reshoot individual segments. The finished file can also be downloaded and shared with a link.

5Where the sourced wording is

A word page, not an entry in the register: nothing above is attributed to any vendor and nothing above is legal advice. The quoted clauses are on commercial use, the column this phrase turns up in is commercial use from, and the reading rules are on the reading page. Next words: Commercial use, Personal use, Licence grant.
