What each vendor's terms say about commercial use

What Leonardo.Ai publishes about rights

Leonardo.Ai (leonardo.ai) grants commercial use on the free plan: a free user can download their own generations for commercial usage. The cost is visibility, since those concepts stay publicly viewable for others to copy and remix, and full rights are described for private generations on paid plans. As of 2026-09-22.

The setting that decides the Leonardo ownership answerCommercial use is granted to free users, so there is no crossing point to buy. What privacy changes is ownership: a private generation is described as leaving full rights with the user, while public content carries perpetual rights retained by Leonardo to reproduce, adapt and create derivative works. Was the generation privatePrivate, on a paid planFull rights describedOwnership, copyright and otherintellectual property rights stay withthe user.Public, including free seatsRights retained as wellWorldwide perpetual rights toreproduce, adapt, publish and adaptfurther.Commercial use is granted either way

Inclusion rule. The same four points are recorded for every vendor here. A point the vendor does not publish is recorded as no statement rather than inferred from terms of service. Order. Fixed order, identical on every product page.

1A free tier that gives away the licence and keeps the exclusivity

This is the inverse of the pattern the rest of the grid is built around. There is no crossing point to buy, because the permission is already there on the free seat. What the free seat does not include is privacy: the concepts remain publicly viewable for other users to copy and remix.

For a brand that changes the nature of the risk rather than removing it. Nobody is running unlicensed footage. Somebody else may be running a close relative of your key visual, and nothing in the licence prevents it, because the same page says so plainly.

2Ownership is decided by a privacy setting

On a private generation the user is described as retaining full ownership, copyright and all other intellectual property rights. For public content the page states that Leonardo.Ai and its successors retain worldwide perpetual rights to use, copy, reproduce, adapt, publish, transmit and create derivative works.

Both halves of that clause are on the same page, and only the first half tends to get quoted. Since privacy is a paid feature, the ownership column here is effectively priced even though the commercial-use column is not.

3What a campaign has to record

Which seat produced the asset and whether that generation was private at the time. Neither is visible in the file, both are answerable from an account, and the second one decides which half of the ownership clause applies to a finished spot.

The quoted wording speaks of images, which is narrower than the video work this register covers, and that narrowness is recorded rather than smoothed over. A video deliverable from this vendor needs the same question asked again in writing.

5What the output is for

Alongside the terms behind “Leonardo.Ai”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:

A dish photo is cleaned into a product shot and the ad is built around it.

The terms grant you the output to the extent the law allows, and that includes commercial use.
