What Wan publishes about rights
Wan (github.com) publishes its video models under the Apache 2.0 License and states that it claims no rights over your generated contents, granting freedom to use them provided usage complies with the licence. There is no plan, no territory carve-out and no revenue threshold to read. As of 2026-09-22.
| Point | What the vendor publishes |
|---|---|
| Free tier | Weights published under Apache 2.0, with no plan involved |
| Commercial use from | The licence itself, with no threshold attached |
| What is owned | No rights claimed over your generated contents |
| Input restriction | No statement published |
Inclusion rule. The same four points are recorded for every vendor here. A point the vendor does not publish is recorded as no statement rather than inferred from terms of service. Order. Fixed order, identical on every product page.
1A permissive licence is a complete answer to two columns at once
Apache 2.0 is a known quantity: a reader does not have to interpret it, a lawyer has almost certainly cleared it before, and it carries no condition about who the licensee is or how large they are. Put on model weights, it answers the commercial-use question without mentioning commerce.
The repository adds the sentence brands actually want, disclaiming rights over generated content in the same breath as naming the licence. That pairing is what makes this the shortest row here and one of the few that needs no follow-up question.
2What is absent is the point
No excluded territories. No monthly active user ceiling. No annual revenue figure above which the grant lapses. The other two weight-published entries in this register each carry one of those, and comparing the three is the clearest illustration that open weights do not imply a uniform licence.
What the licence does not remove is responsibility for the output itself. Compliance with applicable law is stated as the user's, and a defamatory or infringing clip is no more usable because the weights were permissively licensed.
3Why a self-hosted row belongs in a register about plans
Running the model yourself is a real procurement option for a brand with an in-house team, and it moves the rights question from a subscription agreement to a licence file. The question does not disappear; it changes address.
Reading the two side by side is instructive. A hosted product can give a better answer than a permissive licence, and several here do not, which is why this register records the document rather than the delivery model.

5A generator's account of it
Alongside the terms behind “Wan”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:
The photo is cleaned into a product shot and that object appears in every shot.

On the end card, yes, along with the product name, the tagline and the call to action, in the language of the ad.
