Why every cell carries a date, and what the date promises
Each cell records the date its wording was read. The date asserts that the wording was on that page then, and nothing about now, which is what makes a quotation checkable after the page changes. As of 2026-09-22.
| Claim | Whether the date supports it |
|---|---|
| The wording was there on that date | Yes |
| The wording is there today | No |
| Nothing has changed since | No |
| Where to verify it | Yes: the link sits beside the date |
Inclusion rule. Rules this register applies to every row. A rule is written down here when following it changes what a cell says, or when breaking it would make the grid look more complete than it is. Order. Reading order: the ordinary case first, then the awkward ones.
1Per cell rather than per site
Different cells were read on different days. A single site-wide date implies a sweep that did not happen, and an implied sweep is worse than no date at all because it invites reliance the record cannot carry.
Keeping the date beside the wording also makes stale cells visible to anybody, including whoever maintains the register. A column of dates is a to-do list nobody has to write.
2Age means different things on different rows
Plan pages are marketing artefacts and change often. Licence files published with model weights change with releases and are versioned. The same number of months means one thing on a plan row and another on a licence row.
So the useful habit is not a fixed expiry but a glance at what kind of document the reading came from, which the register prints in the same cell.
3What happens when a page is rewritten
The old reading is not a lie; it becomes history. The register keeps the previous dated reading and records the new one beside it, which is the only way a grid can be wrong honestly.
For a reader with a decision in front of them the instruction is simpler: follow the link. A register is a map of where the sentences are, and confirming one takes a minute.
4The rest of the method
A rule about recording, not a statement about any vendor: nothing on this page is attributed and nothing on it is legal advice. The rules are collected on the reading page, the quoted clauses are on commercial use, and the cells this rule produced are on the recorded cells. Nearby rules: Quoting, Pages read.
5From the making side
Alongside the terms behind “Dates”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:
Every character, scene and prop card can carry a short list of the other names your script uses for the same thing.

You can recomposite with different end-card text, and in step-by-step mode you can reshoot individual segments. The finished file can also be downloaded and shared with a link.
