What HunyuanVideo publishes about rights
HunyuanVideo (github.com) is published as weights under a community licence, so the question is not which plan but where and how large. Territory is defined as the world excluding the European Union, the United Kingdom and South Korea, and above 100 million monthly active users a licence has to be requested from Tencent. As of 2026-09-22.
| Point | What the vendor publishes |
|---|---|
| Free tier | Weights published with a licence, so there is no plan to read |
| Commercial use from | The licence, outside the EU, the UK and South Korea |
| What is owned | Tencent claims no rights in the Outputs you generate |
| Input restriction | No statement published |
Inclusion rule. The same four points are recorded for every vendor here. A point the vendor does not publish is recorded as no statement rather than inferred from terms of service. Order. Fixed order, identical on every product page.
1Conditions on a map, not on a price list
The grant is a non-exclusive, non-transferable and royalty-free limited licence, and the limits are geographic. Territory is defined as the worldwide territory excluding the European Union, the United Kingdom and South Korea, which means a London agency and a Sydney agency are reading the same document to opposite conclusions.
Nothing on a plan table could express that, which is why this row exists in a register organised around plans. A brand that runs campaigns in several markets has to ask where the generation happened and where the output will be published, and the licence is the only document that answers either.
2A scale threshold that most readers will never reach and some will
Where a licensee's products or services exceed 100 million monthly active users in the preceding calendar month, a licence must be requested from Tencent. For an agency that is theoretical. For a platform embedding generation in a consumer app it is a real ceiling with a date attached to it.
It is also the sort of clause that arrives long after the technical decision. A team that shipped on these weights at a small scale inherits an obligation that activates on growth, which is a different kind of risk from an unlicensed clip.
3The output clause is the clearest line in the document
Tencent claims no rights in Outputs you generate, and you and your users are described as solely responsible for Outputs and their subsequent uses. Both halves are useful: the first settles the ownership column, and the second makes explicit that the indemnity brands ask for is not on offer.
Three entries in this register are published as weights rather than sold as plans, and all three answer the ownership question in their licence text. None of them answers it on a page that mentions money, because there is no such page.

5A generator's account of it
Alongside the terms behind “HunyuanVideo”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:
Under the terms, what you generate is yours to the extent the law allows, royalty-free, commercial use included.
