What each vendor's terms say about commercial use

What happens to a cell when a vendor rewrites its pages

When a vendor rewrites the wording behind a cell, the previous dated reading stays in the record and the new one is added. A cell that quietly replaced its own history would make every earlier quotation unverifiable. As of 2026-09-22.

Inclusion rule. Rules this register applies to every row. A rule is written down here when following it changes what a cell says, or when breaking it would make the grid look more complete than it is. Order. Reading order: the ordinary case first, then the awkward ones.

1A handle that outlives the wording

Each recorded fact carries an identifier that does not change when the sentence behind it does. That is what lets a rewording be traced rather than looking like a different fact appearing out of nowhere.

It also means a reader who quoted a cell last quarter can find what it says now. Without a stable handle, a register is a snapshot that silently replaces itself.

2Why the old reading is kept

Somebody made a decision on it. A production cleared a campaign against wording that existed on a date, and the record of that wording is part of the evidence that the decision was reasonable at the time.

Deleting it would also hide the thing most worth knowing about a vendor: whether its position has moved, and in which direction. A dated pair of readings answers that instantly.

3What a reader should do with a changed cell

Check which of their own deliverables were made under the earlier wording, and whether anything in the new wording reaches backwards. Almost no document says, which is why the plan and date at export are worth recording.

For a decision being made now, only the current reading matters, and the link beside it is the fastest way to confirm it is still there.

4The rest of the method

A rule about recording, not a statement about any vendor: nothing on this page is attributed and nothing on it is legal advice. The rules are collected on the reading page, the quoted clauses are on commercial use, and the cells this rule produced are on the recorded cells. Nearby rules: Weights and plans, Links.

5From the making side

Alongside the terms behind “Rewording”, SceneMixer's guides describe the work itself this way:

The photo is cleaned into a product shot and that object appears in every shot.

The final cut ends on an end card: your main image plus four lines — Brand, Product name, Tagline, Call to action. The first two are read from your photo and your brief; the tagline and call to action are written with the script.
